Dr. Pyle specialises in the treatment of depression and anxiety in all its forms. Recently, special emphasis has been placed on the treatment of pre and post operative anxiety and work/career performance anxiety. See the Help With section on this site for more information.
In addition to the treatment of a variety of mental health concerns, Dr. Pyle is also a Single Expert Witness (SEW) for the Family Court of Western Australia and has served the Family Court in this capacity since 2011.
Dr. Pyle received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and Psychology in Melbourne. He received his Masters of Science in Counselling at the California State University Sacramento and studied in Berkeley California where he received his PhD in Clinical Psychology. In his 39 years of work in the field of Psychology, Dr. Pyle was licensed to practice psychology in the State of California and Hawaii. He has interned in Community Mental Health programs, drug rehab programs, wilderness programs for adolescents and visited 5 countries to expand his knowledge in the field of Psychology. He has been among other things, the Clinical Director of Paediatric Services in a California based Psychiatric Hospital, overseen the out of home placement of children and youth for the State of Hawaii and integrated mental health services in the school system located on the Hawaiian island of Kauai.
During his time in California, Dr. Pyle worked with Dr. Daniel Amen leading author and researcher in the field of ADHD utilising Neurofeedback and Biofeedback computerised technology. It was during this time that Dr. Pyle came to understand the complementary nature of Biofeedback and CBT training in the treatment of anxiety and depression.
Dr. Pyle has aslo interned with leading researcher and author Dr. John Arden. World authority and lecturer on advances in Psychological treatment and how the Brain works.
Dr. Pyle is a member of the Clinical College of the Australian Psychological Society and a Medicare provider as a Clinical Psychologist.
